Somatostatin Analogue

Synthetic peptides that mimic somatostatin, a hormone that inhibits the release of growth hormone, insulin, and other hormones. Used clinically for acromegaly, neuroendocrine tumors, and other conditions where hormone suppression is needed. Octreotide (Sandostatin) is the most widely prescribed example.
