Peptides derived from or mimicking compounds produced by the thymus gland, which plays a central role in immune system development and T-cell maturation. Thymic peptides are studied for immune modulation, with thymosin alpha-1 approved in over 30 countries for hepatitis B and as an immune adjuvant.
